Nov 8-10 cool cool uncool and loving warm / Marcus Doverud (SE) & Emma Daniel (FR)

The piece asks: how is groove made through dance? The method travels along the path of music. The bulk of material mainly from hip-hop break-beats, electro based techno, impressionist music and the swing of jazz. We want to highlight what it means to be an ”instrumentalist” of dance. That to play a part, not only through the portraying of a character, but through being a part of an orchestra, organum, sharing the responsibility for conveying the music of dance.

By letting the dance groove us we want to create a contrast of groove that is specific to dance. We note groove on stage, in videos, on the dance floor and through what it means to be professional dancers. Groove impinges on our bodies.
