Oct 11. Practices of Abstraction / Flat Octopus + Cluster 8

Practices of Abstraction
a meeting point for Art & Science

This will be a kind of experiment. Let us think of the actual practice of artists and scientists! What is similar and what is different? We hope that this will allow us to let go of our old preconceptions and theories and find a common meeting point.

Two artists and two researchers have been invited. They are both similar and different. Each has been asked to prepare a 15-minute presentation about their practice. We hope that this generous contribution and an equally generous listening will lead to a discussion with all participants.

Organismo vivo/Levande organism is a 8’ video performance by the Spanish artist Marta Pinilla in collaboration with the Catalonian dancer Mireia Piñol that took place at Naturhistoriska riksmuseet during COVID-19 pandemic. Supported by the Spanish Embassy and produced by Flat Octopus.

After the film, presentations and discussion there will be live music by Rasmus A Danneholt and drinks by Katerina Lukoshkova specially made for this evening.
