June 15. Water @ Weld. Workshop: Delta – An Ocean Call: Second Wave – Water Body

Welcome to Delta, a choreographic platform for participatory work. A container for participatory projects, dance, exchange and choreographic inquiries in workshop and publication formats.

Responding to the publication ”Delta – An Ocean Call”, and its different perspectives on water, Delta is pleased to invite you to an evening of liquid becomings with Swedish-Armenian dance artist Melody Panosian. This workshop departs from Melody’s duet Water-Body and blends voice, dance and meditation with the potential of relating to one-and-Other through sound in shared space. The work refers to the book ‘Relational becoming’ by creative researcher and critical pedagogue Kerstin Meißner.

During three hours, Melody will share her work on sound and movement through different exercises, such as investigating power relations (interconnection and agency), being perceived and perceiving, riddle-like poems, butoh-inspired sound perception exercises, breath, voice-meditation and movement.

There will be a shorter warm-up at the beginning of the session, but for those who need longer time to warm up their bodies and voice, we recommend you to come a bit earlier and warm up by yourself.

The space will be open for participants one hour before the workshop starts.
