WELD EXTENDED

In the Weld Extended project, dancers with different backgrounds, skills and experiences are invited to work together with Swedish and international choreographers in curious and exploratory processes. The invitation to the choreographer consists of sharing their practice, returning to older material or exploring new material. For the dancers, it provides an opportunity to experience new methods and aesthetics, to be enriched and challenged, and to meet colleagues they may never have worked with before.

We want to provide opportunities for both newly graduated choreographers and dancers and established Swedish and international artists. Sometimes, Weld Extended can also be linked to existing projects or concepts that need a cohesive group structure, which is what we did in the 2024 process with Jeanine Durning. Weld wants to open up opportunities for more Swedish and international dancers and choreographers to work together through curious processes.
