April 29. Sparkling Conversations: Informal conversations on dance and choreography
Sparkling Conversations: Informal conversations on dance and choreography initiated and moderated by Carima Neusser.
On April 29th, we invite you who work with dance and choreography to the fourth occasion of intimate dialogue evenings.
These evenings start with an artist talk with artists from the international dance field, followed by questions and an open discussion. For this evening, Thomas Zamolo has been invited.
During this evening, our conversations will start from reflections on the choreography of light. We investigate the possibilities of lightdesign and its intimate relation to choreographic practices.
The idea is that these presentations can lead us into new topics, questions and reflections on our artistic practices and work. The initiative comes from a desire to enrich the dance field with perspectives on dance and choreography that differ from established way of talking about dance and choreography. With the dialogues, we want to create greater artistic diversity and new forms of discussion about choreography.
The talks can also be seen as a response to a longing for artistic discussions that can take place collectively and that can strengthen our community as artists and open up new meetings and networks. We want to create a place for fruitful exchanges that focus on art and the artistic directly and without self-censorship. We will discuss everything from dance, choreography, process, the inexhaustible potential of our bodies, the unknown within us and life itself.
We want to initiate meetings that draw inspiration from our artistic visions, desires, reflections and above all our curiosity about the body, dance and choreography.
We shape the evening together!
The talks are open to practitioners of dance and choreography and artists who work with the body, movement and performance.

THOMAS ZAMOLO
Born in France, Thomas Zamolo is an eclectic artist whose practice is rooted at the intersection of photography, dance and lighting design. His artistic journey started twenty years ago, accumulating experiences in the world of performing art as a dancer, choreographer, rehearsal director and theatrical lighting designer. As a photographer, Thomas is perhaps best known for his work with Polaroid Composites. He’s work has been extensively exhibited, including group and solo shows in Europe and United Sates. He is represented by Little Big Galerie in Paris and Arles, he has been part of important instant Photography Publications.
Since 2010 his extensive dance career and interest for the visual arts have also brought him to venture into the world of theater and performance design with a fundamental interest for the dramaturgical nature of light. As a lighting designer, Thomas has signed lighting creations for the most recent works of Fred Gies, Anna Pehrsson and Cristina Caprioli and is a long term collaborator with the choreographer Tilman O’Donnell. He currently resides in Stockholm.
