echoes of you(s) is a collective drift, a temporary dislocation of the subject. It moves inside multi-layered temporalities and durations, leaking away from the present moment to unfold in the imagination of the viewer. Patterns erode away, leaving tenuous traces; they make tunnels across time (I think I’m adrift inside them). In echoes of you(s) Gry Tingskog and Amina Szecsödy weave together sculpture, embroidery, dance, sound and technology. In this meeting of choreography, performance and installation, they explore what happens to our bodies in the dark.
echoes of you(s)
(darkness falls inside you, around you, through you)
it begins by coming back: falling into a state in-between sleep and wakefulness, we no longer sort time. a loop of delays, blurring our sense of temporality. our body unfolds an architecture of absence, bridging tenses. we move to remain intimate with the absence. and so, we disappeared into the darkness for a while. you remember that one time (darkness falling) moving slowly inside each other. the trace you left would make a heap of wet matter. we close in, as the darkness moves closer. it doesn’t scare us to think about an end (falling) not knowing if the absence of scare is a distance we’re willing to take (again) the vague reverberates – the echo remembers (and again)

Gry Tingskog and Amina Szecsödy met in the streets of Stockholm one time in 2016, without knowing that the next time they’d meet would be during their Master studies in Choreography at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies in Gießen in 2018. Since, they have been thinking together, working and collaborating in various projects and constellations. In echoes of you(s) Amina and Gry weave together sculpture, embroidery, dance, sound and technology. In this meeting of choreography, performance and installation, they explore what happens to our bodies, perception and selves in the dark. echoes of you(s) was made in 2019 and premiered during Rough Proposals Festival at Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt. This is the Swedish premiere.
