An evening of conversations about and with music.
Talkin´Blues which opens the evening is a concept developed by Marcus Doverud. Here he has invited violinist Anna Lindal to play and share thoughts about music. The other half of the evening take place in relation to Anna Koch / Weld’s collaboration with Stockholm Artistic University / DOCH and the independent course ”From Beyoncé to Bach”.  Guests of the evening are Alma Söderberg and Tian Rotteveel who is sharing thoughts of their individual practices.

 

TALKIN´ BLUES
– music, companionship and fabulous speculation

Like a mixture of a radio duel and TV-charades but live n’ direct in front of an audience in the same room. We listen to and think with music in different styles and constellations.

On the 12 of April Anna Lindal meets Marcus Doverud to play.

ANNA LINDAL
is one of the renowned violinists of our time. A musician with surgical precision and projection that deserve note and adherence. She is an inspiration to those of us who try to listen with attention to the music of the worlds. An example of curiosity, beauty
and care.

MARCUS DOVERUD
is a performing artist with a background in music, philosophy, choreography and performance. In October 2018 the piece _The Skin Ego (Hudjaget)_ premiered, Doverud’s first work made for several dancers. During 2019 the new piece _Samples Songs and Prayers_ will perform as well as the initiation of the coming work _Thinking with Music_. He has published the book Viformation together with his long time collaborator visual artist Liv Strand. His work move between different stages dealing with bodily, spatial and sonic utterances and their interrelations.

FROM BEYONCE´TO BACH

The course explores music and sound in relation to dance making and choreography from historical, political, economical and aesthetic perspectives. It aims to deepen the understanding of the fields and its different genres by critically reflecting the independent art forms and how they work in parallel, interact, reinforce and support each other.Invited choreographers, composers and theorists share their approaches and personal relationships with music through theoretical lectures and practical workshops.
