Artist talk with Christine De Smedt

The belgian choreographer and dancer Christine De Smedt will come to Stockholm. At Weld she will be interviewed about her artistic work.

Christine de Smedt is a member of the company Les Ballets C. de la B. (Gent, Belgium) since 1990.
She presented her own work since 1993, a solo, La force fait l’union, fait la force; a traveling project in the Balkan, Escape Velocity (1998). Between 2000-2005, she worked on a large scale choreographical project, 9×9, realized in 15 different cities in Europe and Canada, as well as she was artistic coordinator for Les Ballets C. de la B..

She realized Schreibstück (after the book of Thomas Lehmen) in collaboration with Mette Edvardsen and Marten Spångberg (2004). De Smedt was collaborating for several years with Meg Stuart-Damaged Goods and initiated the multidisciplinary improvisation project Crash Landing in collaboration with Meg Stuart and David Hernandez (1997-1999). In the last years, she worked with Christelle Fillod, Milli Bitterli, Susanne Berggren and was performing in Project by Xavier Le Roy. In 2005 she organized several artistic events and collaborated with Eszter Salamon. She is currently developing a long term research project.
