Jan 29. Assembly meeting: Cultural policy as frustration

We are convening a meeting where frustrated cultural practitioners can have their say. No curated panel, no invited officials – just a platform to share cold facts.

Complaining can be boring, but for cultural practitioners it has long been a necessity in a society where we are often not taken for granted.

Complaining together can become a driving force for productive and important change. Within the field, we can still create new common approaches.

We need to come together and discuss, beyond driven agendas, to get a picture of ongoing initiatives and support each other. Are you already part of something? Come and share.

After the Swedish Arts Council’s reprioritization and redistribution, which has affected many in the performing and arts field – we call for this meeting. The changes have had a major impact, especially on artists who might otherwise have been active.

Our hope is that the meeting can lead to action or at least create a sense of community. Wasn’t it just such a sense of community we felt there in the audience during the parliamentary debate on December 4, through Konträr’s initiative to make our presence felt?

Would you like to share your situation or ideas to make the field visible, perhaps similar manifestations? Register your interest.

Welcome to the event!
