March 11-16: The Black The Box The Theatre -Texting Textures
Pontus Pettersson is back at Weld with a development of the project The Black Box Theatre, which was created for the festival Almost out of sight at Weld 2012. With the working title The Black The Box The Theatre – Texting Textures, this time in the form of a linking choreography where both other works and artists will be represented in the form of exhibition, newly written text and performances.
Participating artists are Theodore Trottner, Sandra Lolax, Adriano Wilfert Jensen and Tova Gerge.
MOPA – I Disappear into darkness, which premieres on Thursday, March 13, is the second part of Pontus Pettersson MOPA trilogy. The six individual solos that were part of MOPA – Preparing for battle, have here been collected into a single solo in the form of a volatile rapmusikal or a lecture in rhyme where the stage design lends itself to installation and projection surfaces. The show deals with concepts such as voice, multiple bodies and the agency and potential of darkness
The week at Weld ends with two other stage works being performed. Debut (Pontus Pettersson, Sandra Lolax and Adriano Wilfert Jensen) and OF(F) WHITE developed during Pontus Pettersson's residence at Weld 2011.
PONTUS PETTERSSON
is a choreographer and dancer trained at Statens Scenkunst Skole in Copenhagen . As a choreographer Pontus has displayed his works in Sweden and abroad, participated in programs for young makers such as Choreoroam, ENPARTS and DanceWEB. As a dancer Pontus has danced with internationally renowned choreographers such as Deborah Hay and Ohad Naharin , and most recently for Marten Spångbergsvägen in his last two performances EPIC and La Substance, but in English.
