Nov 5-7. Weld Company 2014 + Rebecka Stillman

Weld Company – initiated by Weld 2013 – is back 2014 with its second segment. During the autumn, a new constellation is working at Weld, overlapping the already established group Weld Company 2013. This autumn two new works will be created by the choreographers Rebecka Stillman (SE) and Julian Weber (DE) with ongoing theme ”No Talking No Props”.

Weld Company 2014 is: Anna Westberg, Elias Girod (FI), Per Sacklén, Caroline Byström, Pavle Heidler (HR) and Josefine Larson Olin.

Premiere of a new work by Rebecka Stillman for Weld Company 2014.

Rebecka Stillman suggests experimenting with history, as a spring board towards unknown territory, in her collaboration with Weld Company. The core of the work is a wish for strict protocols to give a push towards new ways of relating. Methods are being built in order to look between and next to the well known instead of aiming directly at the very unknown. This makes everything as it used to and at the same time not at all. It also gives a new meaning to the very history one is relating to. Just like when she collaborated with Weld Company last year the focus will be the analysis and modification of the dance canon.

REBECKA STILLMAN

usually has different functions in various choreographic projects. She has an MA in choreography (DOCH) and has previously attended The Royal Swedish Ballet School, SEAD and Stockholm University. She was part of initiating the stage art group ches:co (active 2006-2010) and has made collaborative as well as solo work shown in Sweden and abroad. She was commissioned to create a new piece with and for the Weld Company both in 2013 and now 2014.

Rebecka has also engaged in projects initiated by others, among them Eleanor Bauer, Ludvig Daae, Deborah Hay, Sara Gebran and Mårten Spångberg. Rebecka was a danceWEB Scholar at ImPulsTanz in 2013 and has also been active in the project Maximum Spaces.
