Oct 9+10. Dissolution / Joel Nordström, Eric Sjögren, Anton Andersson
Do I even want more? Is it not my dream of life, to live in content with the worldly, heavenly pleasures of things around me?
Dissolution is a composition for foam, balloon, smoke and confetti with the aim of suggesting other relationships between humans and the world today. Based on object-oriented ontology and speculative realism the performance seeks to create a world beyond humanism’s idea of man as the center of the world. By placing objects and materials in the main role and creating direct experiences of form, movement, rhythm and time the performance wants to understand what it means to be part of the world rather than its origin. How does the world remain unknown? Can we reach a sense of wonder for the things themselves?
Dissolution is an attempt to dissolve the contemporary narcissistic subject and create an ascending into a world that is alive again.
