Hans Rosenström (FI/SE)
Over five days in September, Finnish artist Hans Rosenström will present two sound installations at Weld: Broken Chord (2025) and Tidal Tears (2025). Taking the human voice as their starting point, the works create an ever-changing spatial choreography of sound, light and presence. The voice moves between the physical, the human and the landscape, raising questions about our relationship with our surroundings

Moving Landscapes Together
QUARTO (BR/SE)
For seven years, the artist duo QUARTO have been transporting a metal cube through various landscapes and locations around the world. The cube is a space in constant transformation, where body, place and movement converge. In Stockholm, Moving Landscapes has been performed at Odenplan, Tensta Square, Raul Wallenberg Square, Rinkeby Square and outside the National Museum. Now the cube is coming to Stockholm’s busiest square – Sergels torg – and this time QUARTO has invited the dancers Elinor Tollerz Bratteby and Levi Blad to step inside the cube alongside them.

Natten Natten Flyger

Natten Natten Flyger is a dance performance for children aged 3–6 about darkness, imagination and the secret worlds that come to life as dusk falls. Through movement, set design and music, the performance opens the door to an ever-changing world where shadows grow, objects take on a life of their own and anything seems possible. Also being performed for pre-school children on 23–25 September

Ten Years Alive

Ten Years Alive is a three-day event celebrating the tenth anniversary of the For Other Music festival. At Moderna Museet, SITE, ABF, Fylkingen, Mötesplats Mariatorget and Weld, concerts, film and performance come together, featuring, amongst others, Daniel Blumberg, Anna Högberg, David Grubbs and Finn Loxbo. At Weld, the programme concludes with works by Jakob Ullmann performed by Rebecca Lane and Jon Heilbron, alongside Tony Conrad’s classic 16 mm film The Flicker.

TIMELESS
Nefeli Oikonomou (GR/SE)
TIMELESS is a solo dance piece by Nefeli Oikonomou that explores the bodily experience of time – how memory, ageing, desire and anticipation leave their mark on the body. In an ever-changing landscape of light, sound and movement, the past and the present merge. The choreography follows the shifting rhythms of time rather than attempting to master them, and explores the body as something that not only moves through time, but carries it. TIMELESS is the third part of Oikonomou’s choreographic trilogy.

Sun Eaters
Jassem Hindi (PS/FR/NO) & Sina Seifee (IR)
Sun Eaters is a contemporary folk dance in which the choreographer and musician Jassem Hindi and the visual artist Sina Seifee explore oil as a cultural and mythological landscape. Pre-Islamic iconography, West Asian music, doom metal and Norwegian folk melodies come together in a dark and terrifying performance. Using folk dance as a form of collective memory, the work examines the darkness of our times, and how oil and dance can convey madness, resistance and a longing of epic proportions.

Re_Requiem

An audiovisual encounter between Ivo Nilsson and Gustaf Broms, taking place from dusk till dawn over the All Saints’ Day weekend, drawing inspiration from the work’s title and using the biological world as a mirror. Re_Requiem explores time, transformation and the cycle of life – a world where linear time ceases to exist and everything is in a state of constant flux, with no clear beginning or end. Music, performance, video and objects come together in an exploration of wholeness, separation and the boundary between the individual and their surroundings.

The White Chapel

The White Chapel is a work about belonging to a form and yet not feeling at home within it. It takes as its starting point a body that is, both historically and in the present day, easy to interpret: the educated, well-trained male body. In The White Chapel, movement becomes a way of exploring this anew. Not to find a definitive answer, but to explore the possibility of inhabiting a body before it becomes an image. The White Chapel is not about returning to a strong body or a strong soul. Rather, it is about returning to a lived body and a lived soul.

International guest performance
Uvula
Anna Nowicka (PL/DE)
Anna Nowicka has been invited as a guest choreographer to work with Weld Extended this autumn. As part of this, she will be presenting her solo piece Uvula – a work that explores the imaginary as choreography and the relationship between dreaming and dancing bodies. The piece was commissioned by the Polish National Gallery, Zachęta, in Warsaw, as a response to Piotr Uklański’s sculpture Untitled (Wide Open). In Uvula, Anna Nowicka asks how one can move forward in times of despair and turns to dreams as a remedy for a hopeless future.

Weld Extended + Anna Nowicka (PL/DE)
Weld Extended is an active extension of the experimental project Weld Company (2013–2021). Every year, we invite dance artists to work with Swedish and international choreographers who share their creative practices. In this year’s edition, the dancers Sophie Augot, Nefelie Gioti, Madeleine Lindh, Karin Raudsepp and Linda Blomqvist are working alongside the choreographer Anna Nowicka.

Anna Heymowska (SE)
In the installation Nemeton/a, Anna Heymowska explores the spatial and material language between humanity and the non-human. Here, time is tied in knots and the looped curvature of the pine tree becomes a message. Something cuts through the water’s surface and the navel emerges as a scar from a bond we all once shared – an opening towards all beings who came before us. Nemeton/a is part of an artistic research project at SKH.

Långtifrån var det en ö
Anna Pehrsson (SE)
Anna Pehrsson works across the fields of visual art, choreography and performance. Through her work, she explores how humans can understand and relate to nature, materials and processes that take place far beyond our own control. In Långtifrån var det en ö (Far Away There Was an Island), Anna Pehrsson explores the encounter between the body, the landscape and nature’s slow transformations. The performance is an extension of the exhibition of the same name, in which Anna Pehrsson used techniques such as sculpture and printmaking to work with materials such as limestone, marble and copper – materials that crack, change and break down over time.
